You can recover from addiction.
My personal past experience with knowing addiction, and experiencing the ongoing dread of feeling like “You can’t live with it and can’t live without it” sense of doom, has been a major catalyst of change in my life since I was young. Learning to understand my own addictive traits, and seeing addictive traits in others that bring an ongoing sense of being stuck or unhappy has been a humbling process. Through a slow process of taking actions to break the vicious self-destructive cycle, I’ve developed a keen awareness of myself, my inner workings and wounds, and have established a life free from the misery of addiction. I consider myself a person in “long term recovery” but in a more human sense I am someone who embraces a lifetime of healing, living out my values, and being in a space of integrity with myself. I do not carry the self-hate, the shame, or the loneliness that I once knew so well and that my addictive behaviors perpetuated. My compassion for people struggling with any habit or addiction that is negatively impacting their life is innate and natural. People can achieve freedom from addiction and addictive behaviors, but without support, education, and efficient therapy, their journey can be an uphill battle. My recovery services are tailored to the individual, as this is not a one size fits all approach.
