Welcome! My name is Meghan and I am a therapist living in Austin, TX. I come to this profession with a drive to bring forth honesty, self-discovery, and self compassion with each person I get the pleasure to work with. At my core, I see therapy as a transformational process that helps people to heal and become empowered. Through a process of safely unearthing, re-wiring, and re-writing our lived experience, therapy can bring about a shift of perspective that can have a ripple effect of positive changes in someone’s life. I take this process and your time very seriously, as it can be a life changing investment in yourself.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. I have an extensive background working in the field of addiction with diverse populations. Prior to working in addictions, I specialized in working with children and families in a school setting providing trauma informed care. I enjoy providing therapeutic support to children and adults alike. I have been a certified yoga teacher since 2012 and I often utilize a mind-body approach to healing. My therapeutic style is eclectic, warm, and attentive. I inherently believe in people’s “humanness”, our imperfection, our fears, our strength, and our heart. I turn towards that humanness when we work together. Based on your goals and unique needs, I will approach our time together with your best interest at hand. I tend to work through an attachment theory (we’re all trying to meet our unmet needs of the past) and Rogerian (unconditional positive regard) based lens, and I integrate techniques use in CBT, DBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution focused methodology. My goal is to help you walk through the inevitable curve balls of life while connecting you with tools for moving through your lived experience with a sense of integrity and hope.
When I’m not providing therapy, I enjoy painting, dancing, and being outdoors. Living a creative life, one with rich relationships, personal authenticity, and enjoyment within my activities gives me a sense of purpose and is paramount in my own healing journey. I’m grateful to have a life rich in psychology and in art, as the two are often intertwined. It’s a delight to be connected with others within this work and I value the opportunity to be part of your life.
